« J’espère pouvoir apporter ma contribution pour aider chacun ici. »
Asked what he’s made of City’s success, Guéhi was focused on continuing to build for a prosperous future.
“[It’s been] Absolute domination to be honest and it’s been great to see where the club has come from,” he said.
“The growth and continued growth which the club wants to go for and strive for which is amazing.
“I am someone who just wants to come in and help and do his part and see how far the club can continue to grow.”
Guéhi first skippered Palace as a 21-year-old and has been the club captain during a fine period in their history.
He has long been earmarked for leadership roles, taking on the position with England’s Under-17 and Under-21 sides.
Now, as he approaches the peak years of his career, Guéhi says he’s willing to help this City squad in any way he can.
“It’s something that other people have picked up on,” he said when asked about why he’s so often selected as captain.
“It’s nothing I’d necessarily say I have or believe that I have, to be honest. I am just trying to be myself.
“It’s something that since I have had the opportunity to captain those sides, I have to tried to improve on it and really focus and hone in on those leadership skills.
“It’s something hopefully with this squad I can improve on and look at the other leaders in the team as well.”
