We are recruiting an experienced Head of Catering to join the Company’s Facilities Management team.

The successful candidate will report to the Facilities Director and will play an integral role to drive the continuous development, delivery and overall improvement of all catering services across Manchester City Football Club and City Football Group in the UK to ensure delivery of a world class catering experience.  The role encompasses managing a diverse range of in-house operations and outsourced catering services.

This is a key role in contributing to the Company’s strategy of delivering a world-class catering experience and will require a strategic leader who is able to provide vision, direction to achieve objectives and can motivate, inspire and develop both in-house teams and partner service providers to exceed the varying demands of all stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in a Senior Management role in similar environment and will have the ability to lead, inspire and motivate others whilst demonstrating flexibility and adaptability within a team environment. 

The successful candidate will champion change and will have the ability to develop, implement and influence continuous improvements to the catering services the Company offers in order to keep up to date with the latest trends and developments within the industry and to reinforce of the Company’s brand of excellence.

Tour Guide (Casual)

We are looking for a Tour Guide who will be part of a team that will deliver first class behind the scenes tours of the Etihad Stadium and the City Football Academy. The role will also include front of house duties including the sale of Tours tickets and the taking of souvenir photos.

Key responsibilities

  • To be a brand ambassador for Manchester City FC by conducting engaging tours of the Stadium and CFA to a wide audience.
  • To utilise IT systems to perform telephone bookings, sell tickets and sell souvenir photos.
  • To ensure all tours are delivered to the agreed operations and security procedures.

As this is a casual engagement, please note there are no guaranteed hours. Any hours that are offered could involve shift work including early mornings, late evenings and weekends

Key responsibilities

  • To answer the phones and take tour bookings as well as give out tour information.
  • To sell tours tickets from the ticket office till.
  • To manage the Stadium Tours inbox – answering all e-mail correspondence.
  • To be fully conversant with the Stadium Tours bookings system.

BTEC & NVQ Teacher/Assessor - Education Consultant

We are recruiting an experienced Education Consultant to be responsible for the planning and delivery of the education programme for players in the Professional Development Phase, ensuring that the programme meets the requirements of the Elite Player Performance Plan (EPPP).

Key responsibilities

  1. To support in the planning and delivery of the Academy Education programme for players in the Professional Development Phase
  2. To teach and assess the BTEC and NVQ components of the Achieving Excellence in Sport (ASE) programme for the Academy Scholars.
  3. To maintain and deliver effective classroom provision and to ensure that excellent standards are set.
  4. To maintain links with current education providers and associated partners and stakeholders such as parents, Local Education Authorities (LEAs), educational agencies and schools/teacher contacts of the Academy scholars and schoolboys.
  5. To attend meetings, training courses, conferences and other associated events as directed by the Head of Education or Education Manager.
  6. To assist in any projects as directed by the Head of Education or Education Manager.

The Education Consultant will report directly to the Head of Education at the Academy. There are four-part time education consultants who support the education of the scholars at the City Football Academy. The consultants provide in house tuition to the scholars’ delivery the BTEC and NVQ elements of the Achieving Excellence in Sport (ASE) programme.

Communications and Charities Intern (12 month fixed term contract)

Community has always been at the heart of Manchester City Football Club. We’re looking for an organised and enthusiastic intern to join us on a 12-month contract to play an important role in supporting our Communications department with activities across Public Relations, Marketing and Internal Communications, with ownership of the charity and community support.

The Club has a global communications outreach and receives hundreds of charitable requests each month. To support with this success, the key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Helping the Communications team to generate positive PR to highlight the good news stories of the Club.
  • Support the Communications Department in identifying opportunities for potential initiatives to enhance the reputation of Manchester City and present such initiatives for approval.
  • Support the facilitation of filming and media requests within the areas of PR and MarComms.
  • Respond to, sort and file all requests (by mail and online) for signed merchandise using the Sales Force systemin line with the Club’s charitable giving policy.
  • Undertake research projects as and when required supporting the communications activity of various departments.
  • The successful candidate will assist in the co-ordination and delivery of ‘Wish Granting’ visits on matchday and non-matchdays so we are looking for someone who doesn’t mind working at weekends and during evenings where required.

The successful candidate will have excellent administrative, organisational, written and verbal communication skills. It’s essential that they are highly organised with the ability to prioritise their workload to meet deadlines. Relationships are key in this role, and it is therefore important that they are able to build productive working relationships with people at all levels from all backgrounds.  Finally, we are looking for someone who is enthusiastic and driven, with a career interest public relations and a genuine interest in good causes and charitable initiatives.

Head of Sports Psychology

We are recruiting a Head of Sports Psychology to join the Manchester City Academy, to manage and conduct delivery of Sport Psychology support within the Academy, working closely with the Head of Performance Services and the wider Academy Management Team to support the departmental objectives.

Key responsibilities of this post will include:

  • Oversee a Sport Psychology strategy that will contribute to the wider player development objectives of the academy and club.
  • To deliver Sport Psychology support as required, most regularly at the Youth Development phase (13-16s) & early professional development phase (16-18).
  • To manage, mentor & develop Sport Psychology staff operating across the academy.
  • Ensure the practical implementation of best practice Psychology at all levels within the academy. This will include ongoing monitoring and evaluation to assess impact of support services on player development and performance.
  • Encourage an interdisciplinary approach, working collaboratively with the Human Performance department and with other relevant staff.
  • To create relationships with players, their parents and coaches to support the Psychological development needs of the players.
  • To work in line with the strategy of EPPP as agreed by the Club and oversee all reporting and audit requirements for the EPPP process.

All applicants must be able to demonstrate an extensive understanding of the theoretical underpinning of Sport Psychology as a discipline, as well as the required academic qualifications at undergraduate and masters level in Sport & Exercise Psychology or Psychology.

Key Responsibilities

  • To assist in producing the set food specs and photos with recipe cards for both C&E and bowl events to include match days

Requirements:

  • CV and Cover letter stating why you would like to come and work for us.
  • Please provide a brief character reference from an employer, teacher, lecturer or other professional.
  • Original European Union Passport OR Original Passport & Original Work Permit with Visa OR Two Original Documents.(Must prove right to work in the United Kingdom E.g. Resident Permit or Driving License photo I.D. & Birth Certificate)
  • National Insurance Number (Must be past payslip/National Insurance card or Original Official letter) 
  • Bank Details
  • Level 2 or above certificate (Chefs/Cooks)
  • An original letter headed document  from your college or university verifying that you are a student, duration of course, and term dates (Students from outside the EEA)
